When you choose Starknight, you are trusting Starknight with your personal information. We are committed to maintaining your trust in us. First, let us help you understand our privacy policy.
This statement explains what personal information (hereinafter referred to as "information") we collect, how we use and share this information, and what choices you can take with respect to this information. It is recommended that you read this article in conjunction with our Privacy Overview, which focuses on the description of this Privacy Policy and provides an overview of the information we collect and how we use it.
II. Overview
A. Scope
This statement applies to users of Starknight apps, websites and other services worldwide.
This statement will explain how Starknight and its affiliates collect and use information. This statement applies to all Starknight users worldwide.
Customer: A customer who makes an appointment or receives guardian services and related services through a Starknight account.
Professional Guardian/Guardian: Professional Guardian who provides guardian services to customers through Starknight/Watching Mutual Help accounts or partner companies.
This statement also regulates Starknight/Watching Mutual Help's collection of other information related to Starknight/Watching Mutual Help services. For example, we may collect information including: contact information of owners or employees of Starknight/Watching Mutual Help or Guardian App platforms, contact information of individuals who manage and use corporate customer accounts, or information of individuals who have started but not completed the online opening of professional guardians or partners.
In this statement, all subjects subject to this statement are referred to as "users".
Our privacy practices are subject to the laws applicable to the location of our operations. This means that we will only carry out the data processing described in this statement locally when the laws of a specific country or region permit.
III. Data Collection and Use
A. Information We Collect
Starknight/Watching Mutual Help collects the following information:
Information provided by users to Starknight/Watching Mutual Help during the use of our services
Starknight/Watching Mutual Help collects the following information from the following sources:
1. Information provided by users. This includes:
Account Information: We collect information when users create or update a Starknight/Watching Mutual Help account or place an order through the guest identity checkout feature. This includes name, email address, phone number, login name and password, address, basic profile photo, payment or banking information (including relevant payment verification information), user settings (including accessibility settings), and Starknight/Watching Mutual Help partner frequent guest reward program information.
For Guardians and Partners, this also includes their insurance information, emergency contact information, and health or qualification certificates required to use the Starknight/Watching Mutual Help APP to provide services.
Background Check Information (Professional Guardians and Partners): This includes information submitted during the Professional Guardian/Partner online onboarding process, such as assignment history or criminal record (where permitted by law), good conduct certificate status, known aliases, previous addresses, and work rights. Starknight/Watching Mutual Help Service Providers may collect this information.
Identity Verification Documents and Photos: This includes government-issued IDs such as driver's licenses or passports (which may include ID photo and number, date of birth, and gender), good conduct certificates, and user-submitted photos such as selfies and profile photos.
Use of Population Information: We collect demographic information such as date of birth/age, gender, or occupation when necessary to enable certain features or provide access to age-restricted products or services. For example, we collect a user's date of birth or age when verifying eligibility to use our services. We also collect or infer (using names) gender information to allow female or non-binary users to specify preferences for providing or receiving services, marketing, and advertising to female or non-binary users.
We also collect demographic information, such as age group and household composition, through user surveys.
User Content: We collect information (including chat logs and call recordings) when users contact Starknight/Mutual Help customer support, provide ratings or feedback for users, Guardians, use features that allow users to upload content or send recordings (including in-app recordings or dashcam recordings), or otherwise contact Starknight/Mutual Help.
Trip Information: We collect itinerary information provided by users of Starknight/Mutual Help features, including the time and date of upcoming Guardian reservations. We collect this information when users manually enter information in the Starknight/Mutual Help & Guardian App itinerary form.
2. Information created while using our services. This includes:
Location Information (Professional Guardians and Partners): We collect precise and approximate location information from professional guardians and partners’ mobile devices when the Starknight App is running in the foreground (app is open and displayed on the screen) or background (app is open but not displayed on the screen).
Location Information (Customers and Guardians). We collect precise and/or approximate location information from the mobile devices of customers and Guardians, if they have set their device settings to allow access to information.
Starknight collects this information from the time a user calls a ride or places an order until the end of the ride. It also collects this information while Starknight is in the foreground (the App is open and visible on the screen). To learn how customers and Guardians can enable the collection of precise location information, please see Choice and Transparency below.
Customers and Guardians may still be able to use the Starknight App even if they do not allow the collection of location information from their mobile devices. However, this may affect certain features of the Starknight App. For example, if a customer or Guardian does not enable precise location information, they must manually enter the customer's pick-up address, which may result in the App being inaccurate or not functioning properly.
In addition, even if a customer does not enable the collection of precise location information from their device, the system will still link precise location information collected from the Career Guardian's device during the ride to the customer's account. This information is used for customer support, fraud detection, insurance, litigation, and receipt generation.
Transaction Information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our Services, including the type of service requested or provided, trip or order details (such as date and time, requested pickup location, trip distance), and payment transaction information (such as the name and location of the partner, the amount charged, and the payment method). We also link a user's name to the person who uses a coupon code.
Usage Information: We collect information about how users interact with the Services. This includes date and time of access, app features or pages viewed, browser type, and app crashes and other system activity.
Device Information: We collect information about the device used to access the Services, including hardware model, device IP address or unique device identifier, operating system and version, software, preferred language, advertising identifier, device action data, and mobile network information.
Communication Information: We collect information about user-to-user communications initiated by users through the Starknight App. This includes the type of communication (phone call, text message, or in-app message), date/time, and content (including call recording only if the user is notified of the call recording in advance).
3. Information from Other Sources. This includes:
Users who participate in our referral program. For example, if a user refers another person, we receive information from the user about the referral.
Users or others who provide information about claims or disputes.
Starknight business partners through whom a user creates or accesses a Starknight account, such as payment providers, social media services, or apps or websites that use the Starknight API or provide an API to Starknight.
Starknight business partners in connection with debit or credit cards issued by Starknight’s partner financial institutions, and only those business partners disclosed in the card terms and conditions.
Service providers who help us verify user identities, background information and employment qualifications, detect fraud, and screen users for sanctions, anti-money laundering or “know your customer” requirements.
Professional guards and/or partners’ insurance or financial service providers.
Partner diversified security companies or bodyguard companies (professional guards or partners use our services through accounts associated with such companies).
Available public sources.
Marketing partners and service providers, including banks in connection with cashback programs, and data resellers.
Law enforcement, health authorities, and other government agencies.
B. How we use information
Starknight collects and uses information to provide reliable and convenient transportation, delivery, and other products and services. We also use information to:
Improve the safety and security of users and services
Customer service support
Research and development
Enable user-to-user communication features
Marketing and advertising
Send notifications and OTPs to users
Legal proceedings

Starknight uses the information we collect to:
1. Provide our services. Starknight uses information to provide, personalize, maintain, and improve the services.
This includes using information to:
Create/update an account.
Enable Guardian and other services/features, such as:
Use location data to provide customer pickups and task navigation, calculate estimated arrival times, and track customer pickup progress.
Enable features that involve data sharing, such as sharing the name and information of a Professional Guardian with a customer to facilitate pickups, or using the estimated arrival time sharing and fare splitting features.
Matching a user with available Professional Guardians and Partners based on Personal Data (such as location and distance from other users), user settings/preferences (such as preferred pickup locations), and Non-Personal Data (such as the type of Guardian requested).
Calculating prices and trip costs, including using location data and trip or order details (such as the pickup or drop-off address of the user). We may also consider Non-Personal Data or factors, including date and time, estimated distance and time, minimum base trip fare, taxes and fees, and automatic markups.
Creating a personalized account for a user. For example, we may provide personalized recommendations based on a customer's previous orders and pickup locations.
Providing invoicing options.
Providing users with trip or pickup updates, generating electronic invoices, and notifying us of changes to our terms, services, or policies.
Performing tasks necessary to maintain our services, including troubleshooting software errors and operational issues.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities to fulfill the terms of the agreement with the user, or to meet such purposes, or for the legitimate interests of Starknight and the user.
2. Security, anti-fraud and security. We will use the information to help maintain the security, security and integrity of Starknight/守望相助 services and users. This includes:
Verifying the user's account, identity or compliance with security regulations.
For example, we will review the background checks of professional guardians and partners (including criminal records required or permitted by law) to verify their identity and qualifications to provide traffic protection or pick-up services.
In Taiwan, we may use name, date of birth, email address, phone number, payment information and third-party payment systems to verify the identity of customers and guardians to help prevent fraudulent accounts from using our services.
We will process and compare user profile photos, government-issued ID photos and numbers, or photos submitted by other users to perform this verification, including through the use of facial recognition technology in some areas. We also use this technology to prevent the theft of ID photos, or to prevent users from creating multiple accounts.
We also use facial recognition technology to prevent Starknight accounts from being used by someone other than the account owner. This is done through Starknight's real-time identity check, which periodically asks Career Guardians and Partners to take a selfie before going online and compares it to their profile photo.
We also use this feature to verify changes to bank account information and to help you regain access to your account.

Use customer service information (including security incident reports), device information, transaction and usage information to identify potentially unsafe Career Guardian behavior. This may result in Career Guardians and Partners receiving messages encouraging safe travel and/or deactivating accounts after manual review.
Use account, device, location, usage, transaction and other information (including communications between users and relay information) to prevent, detect and combat fraud (including fraud by guest users).
Use reported incidents, user ratings* and other feedback to encourage users to use the Starknight platform safely and in compliance with our Terms, and to deactivate users with low ratings.
Use professional guardian information (e.g., past trip information and reported incident rates) and customer information (e.g., account information, cancellation and reported incident rates, current pickup location, past trip information and ratings information) to predict and help avoid pairing users that could result in an increased risk of conflict. * We also try to avoid pairings where, for example, a user has previously rated another user 1 star.
Use location, phone number, user name, details and other relevant information to provide real-time support from safety experts during a trip or pickup.
The fraud and unsafe guardian prevention and detection activities described above may be considered personal data under applicable law and may result in the deactivation of a user (usually only after manual review). For information on how to object to the above activities, see "Choice and Transparency" below.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities to fulfill the terms of the agreement signed with the user and/or for the legitimate security interests of Starknight/守望相助, the user and the general public.
3. Customer Service Support. StarkStarknight/守望相助 will use the collected information (which may include call recordings, chat records, in-App recordings, and videos recorded by the Guardian's secret recorder (if any)) to provide customer service support, including investigating and handling user concerns, and controlling and improving customer service support responses and processes.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities to fulfill the terms of the agreement signed with the user, or for the legitimate interests of Starknight/守望相助 to monitor and improve customer service support.
4. Research and development. We use data for analysis, machine learning, product development, research and testing. This can help us provide more convenient and easy-to-use services, enhance the security of services, and develop new services and features.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities based on Starknight/守望相助's legitimate interests to improve and develop new services and features.
5. Enable communication between users. For example, a professional guardian may send a message or call the customer to confirm the pick-up location, a customer may call a professional guardian to retrieve lost property, or a partner may contact the customer to confirm order-related information.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities to fulfill the terms of the agreement signed with the user.
6. Marketing and Advertising. Starknight/守望相助 uses the information (except for guest user information) to market the services of Starknight/守望相助 and its partners.
How end users consent to receive messages
We ensure that Starknight Ltd will not share end user information with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. We may share end user opt-in data with subcontractors or outsourced service providers, but only to perform the services we provide to end users.
We will specifically use account, approximate location, device and usage information, preferred language, and itinerary and order records to provide personalized advertising and marketing communications based on the user's observed or inferred location, interests and characteristics (including inferred gender*).
This includes using the data for the following purposes:
Sending emails, text messages, push notifications, in-app messages, or other communication methods to market or promote Starknight/守望相助 products, services, features, offers, rewards, sweepstakes, news, and events. For example, we may send push notifications to recommend users' frequent destinations, or provide offers or rewards for similar products or merchants based on products or merchants that users have ordered through in-app messages.
Displaying third-party advertisements in the Starknight/守望相助 app, or displaying third-party advertisements related to our services. For example, displaying companies or organizations that provide services through the Starknight/守望相助 app. These ads (called "sponsored ads" in the Starknight/守望相助 app) include personalized recommendations based on users' location and order history.
We may also display advertisements for third-party products that are not provided by the Starknight/守望相助 app. These ads may contain links to third-party apps or websites. Users should refer to the privacy statements of such third parties when visiting such apps or websites for information about the collection and use of data.
This also includes providing personalized advertising based on information about the user's current itinerary or security/safeguard protection request (including the time of the request and the service requested).
We also evaluate the effectiveness of Starknight/守望相助 advertising, third-party advertising displayed in the Starknight/守望相助 App, and third-party advertising related to our Services.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities based on Starknight/守望相助's legitimate interest to inform users about services and features provided by Starknight/守望相助 or Starknight/守望相助's partners. Please refer to the "Choice and Transparency" section to learn about the options available to users when Starknight/守望相助 uses user information for marketing and advertising purposes.
7. Non-marketing notifications. Starknight/守望相助 may use information to send surveys and other notifications that are not for the marketing of Starknight/守望相助 or its partners' services or products. We may also send users information about elections, voting, referendums, and other political processes related to our Services.
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities to fulfill the terms of the agreement signed with the user, or for the legitimate interests of Starknight/守望相助 and its users to notify users of relevant events that may affect the use of Starknight/守望相助 services.
8. Legal procedures and requests. We will use the information to investigate or handle claims or disputes related to the use of Starknight/守望相助 services to comply with applicable laws, regulations, operating licenses, policies or agreements, or use these information in accordance with legal procedures or government requests (including law enforcement agencies).
Starknight/守望相助 performs the above activities based on Starknight/守望相助's legitimate interests to investigate and respond to claims and disputes related to the use of Starknight/守望相助 services and features, and/or to comply with applicable legal provisions.
C. Cookies and Third-Party Technologies
Starknight and its partners use cookies and other identification technologies in our apps, websites, emails, and online ads for the purposes described in this statement and the Starknight Cookie Statement.
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device by websites, apps, online media, and ads. Starknight uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
Authenticate users
Remember user preferences and settings
Determine the popularity of content
Deliver advertising campaigns and measure their effectiveness
Analyze website traffic and trends, and gain a general understanding of the online behavior and interests of users of Starknight services
We may also allow others to provide us with audience measurement and analytics services, serve ads on our behalf across the Internet, or serve ads for other companies’ products and services on our apps, and track and report on the effectiveness of those ads. These entities may use cookies, web metrics, SDKs, and other technologies to identify the devices used by visitors to our websites and when those users visit other online websites and services.
D. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
Some of Starknight's services and features require us to share information with other users, either at the request of a user or with the consent of a user or other users. We may also share such information with affiliates, subsidiaries and partners for legal reasons or in connection with claims or disputes.
Starknight may share information in the following circumstances:
1. Sharing with other users
This includes:
Sharing customer names, ratings, and pick-up locations with professional guardians.
We may share professional guardian and partner information with customers, including name and photo, guardian level, and photo, location (before and during the trip), average rating provided by users, total number of trips, length of time a user has registered as a professional guardian or partner, contact information, and basic professional guardian or partner information, including positive reviews and other feedback submitted by past users.
We will also provide customers with electronic details that include information such as details of charges, professional guardian or partner names, photos, and route maps. We may also provide other information in these electronic details as required by law.
In addition, if a user creates an account using an email address that is affiliated with a Starknight/守望相助 Enterprise account owner (i.e., employer), we may use and share the account information (e.g., name and email address) with the account owner to help the user pay for trips or orders for the Starknight/守望相助 Enterprise account. *
For users who participate in the Starknight/守望相助 referral program, we will share certain information about the referred user, such as the number of trips, with the referral program users as needed to determine the referral reward.
2. At the user's request or with the user's consent
This includes sharing information with the following:
Sharing with others at the user's request. For example, we will share the user's estimated arrival time and location information with friends and family based on the user's request, or share the user's trip information with friends and family when the user splits the trip cost with friends and family.
Starknight/守望相助 business partners. For example, if a user books a service through a partnership or discount program provided by a third party, Starknight/守望相助 may share certain information with the third party. This may include other services, platforms, apps or websites that integrate with our APIs; system vendors or services; entities that have APIs or services that integrate with us; or partners, merchants or other Starknight/守望相助 business partners and their users in connection with offers/rewards, contests or special services.
Emergency Assistance Services. We provide features that allow users to share information with police services in the event of an emergency or after certain incidents. For more information, see "Choice and Transparency" and "Emergency Information Sharing" below.
Insurance Companies. If a user has reported or filed a claim with an insurance company in connection with the Starknight/守望相助 Services, Starknight/守望相助 will share certain information with that insurance company to adjust or process the user's insurance claim.
The general public. Questions or comments raised by users through publicly accessible platforms (e.g. Starknight/守望相助 blogs and Starknight/守望相助 social media pages) including any information contained in questions or comments raised by users.
3. Sharing with Starknight’s Parent and Subsidiaries and Affiliates
We share information with our parents and subsidiaries so that they can help provide services or process information on our behalf.
4. Sharing with Starknight’s Service Providers and Business Partners
These include the third parties or categories of third parties listed below. If a third party is identified, please refer to its linked privacy statement for information about its collection and use of personal information.
- Payment processors and service providers, including PayPal.
- Background check, identity verification and risk solution providers.
- Cloud storage providers.
- Customer support platforms and service providers.
- Google, in connection with the use of Google Maps in the Starknight/Watching Help App.
- Research partners, including partners working with Starknight/Watching Help, conducting investigations or research projects on Starknight/Watching Help’s behalf.
- Service providers who help Starknight/Watching Help strengthen the security of the Starknight/Watching Help App and Services.
- Service providers who provide our artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and services.
- Consulting firms, lawyers, accountants and other professional service providers.
- Insurance and loan partners.
Insurance companies, to handle insurance claims related to Starknight/Watching Mutual Help services filed or reported by users, and to adjust or process insurance claims.
5. Sharing based on legal factors or disputes
Starknight/Watching Mutual Help may share user information when it believes that applicable laws, regulations, business licenses, agreements, policies, legal procedures or government requirements, or when such information should be appropriately disclosed for security or similar concerns.
This includes sharing information with law enforcement agencies, public health agencies, other government agencies, airports (if airport agencies require that information must be shared in order to operate within the airport), insurance companies, or other third parties to enforce our terms of service, user agreements or other policies, protect Starknight/Watching Mutual Help's rights or property, or the rights, safety or property of others, and assist in handling claims or disputes regarding the use of services. If you use someone else's credit card but a dispute occurs, we may share user information (including itinerary or order information) with the credit card holder in accordance with legal requirements.

Data may also be shared with other parties involved in any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation, reorganization, financing, acquisition of all or part of our business by another company, or in negotiations related to the above matters.
6. Sharing with Consent
Starknight/守望相助 may share your data in ways not described in this statement after notifying you and obtaining your consent.
E. Data Retention and Deletion
Starknight/守望相助 will continue to retain data for the purposes listed above until it is no longer needed. You can request account deletion through the Starknight/守望相助 App and Website.
Starknight/守望相助 will retain user data for the time required for the purposes listed above, and the actual period will depend on the type of data, the category of users to whom the data relates, the purpose for which we collect the data, and whether an account deletion request must be made for the purposes described below.
For example, we will adopt the following data retention practices:
If the data is required to provide services, we will continue to retain such data while the user has an account. For example, account information.
If the information is required to comply with tax requirements, it is retained for the specified years in individual countries. For example: itinerary or delivery location information of professional guardians and delivery partners.
For the purpose of maintaining security or preventing fraud, the information is retained for a specified period as needed. For example: we will retain the information of uncompleted professional guardian online activation for 1 year or more, and the information of rejected professional guardian online activation for 7 years or more.
Users can request to delete their account through the "Settings" > "Privacy Settings" menu in the Starknight/Watching Mutual Help App, or through the Starknight/Watching Mutual Help website: here for customers and guardians; here for professional guardians and partners.
After receiving an account deletion request, for security reasons We may retain some of their information as necessary to meet actual or potential tax, litigation or insurance claims, for security, fraud prevention or compliance needs, or for issues related to a user's account (e.g., an unresolved claim or dispute).

Starknight/Watching Mutual Help also provides users with the ability to request access or a copy of their personal information, make changes or updates to their account, request account deletion, or request restrictions on Starknight/Watching Mutual Help's processing of user information.
1. Privacy Settings
Customer and Guardian location data collection and sharing, emergency data sharing, and notification preferences.
Collection of Location Data (Customers and Guardians)
Customers and Guardians can enable/disable Starknight/Watching Mutual Help's collection of their mobile device location data through their device settings, which can be changed through the device's "Location Sharing" menu.
Share Real-time Location (Customers and Guardians)
Customers and Order Takers can enable/disable Starknight/Solidarity sharing of mobile device real-time location data with professional Guardians or Partners (if applicable) through device settings, which can be changed through the device's "Location Sharing" menu.
We collect the precise or approximate locations of users, drivers, delivery personnel, or service providers to enable different services, enable tracking and safety features, prevent and detect fraud, and comply with legal requirements. Wecollect this information when the app is running in the foreground or background of the user's mobile device.
Wecollect location data, such as information about your device's location, which can be either precise or imprecise. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the mobile application. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location (based on your IP address). You can opt out of allowing us to collect this information either by refusing access to the information or by disabling your location setting on your device. Note, however, that if you choose to opt out, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the services
Gender Identity
Customers can update their gender information by contacting Starknight/Solidarity.
Sharing of Emergency Information
Customers may allow Starknight/Solidarity to share real-time location data on their mobile device with police, fire and ambulance services in the event of an emergency. This information includes approximate location at the time of the emergency call, Guardian information; customer name and phone number; pick-up location, etc.
Notifications: Offers and Updates
By signing up to use the Starknight or Starfort apps, users agree to receive push notifications from Starknight LTD, which will share special offers and updates through push notifications.
Third-Party App Access
Users may authorize third-party apps to access their Starknight account data to enable additional features.
2. Device Permissions
Most mobile platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have defined certain types of device data that apps cannot access without the device owner's permission, and these platforms provide different methods to gain access to that data. Users should check the available settings on their device or confirm with the provider.
3. In-App Ratings Page
After each trip, Career Guardians and Customers can rate each other on a scale of 1 to 5. The average of these ratings is linked to the user's account and will be visible to other users providing or receiving services. For example, Career Guardians can view Customers' ratings, and Customers can view Career Guardians' ratings.
Customers can view their average ratings in the Starknight app's main menu.

Partners may also receive ratings from customers.
4. User Data Requests
Starknight/守望相助 provides users with various ways to understand, control, and raise questions and comments about how Starknight/守望相助 processes personal data. In addition to the methods described below, users may also submit data requests through our questionnaires: here for customers, guardians and partners.
Change or update information: Users can contact Starknight/守望相助 to edit their name, phone number, email address, payment method, and basic profile photo.
Delete information: Users can request to delete their account through Starknight/守望相助 settings.
Objections, restrictions and complaints: Users can ask us to stop using all or part of their information, or limit our use of their information. This includes objecting to our use of information based on Starknight/守望相助's legitimate interests. However, Starknight/守望相助 may continue to process information after the user has raised such an objection if the use of the information is required or permitted by law.
In addition, depending on location, users may have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in their country about how Starknight/Watching Mutual Help processes their data. For example, users in the European Union and Latin America may make such a request to the data protection authority in their country of residence.
Steps to Request Data Deletion: Users may request deletion of their account via application only. Follow the path "Login into the application >> Go to Profile Section >> Find "Account Settings" >> Tap on "Manage Accounts" >> Look for the option "Delete Account" to request data deletion. You will be prompted to select the reason for your decision. Once you choose the reason and submit your request, your account deletion process will begin to take effect
